Scope of automation testing in the future

Ever since technology is progressing at a speedy pace, the demand for getting projects done quicker has increased more than ever. To get projects done fast, the complete procedures followed during a software life cycle needs to become accelerated as well. In the area of software testing, automation can be implemented to save cost and time but only when used in time-taking projects. When it comes to performing regression testing, large scale testing, automation testing is the way to go. It can be a good choice.

There are a number of necessary advantages from test automation like Increases the software quality, lessens manual software testing operations and eradicate redundant testing efforts, create extra systematic repeatable software tests, Minimising repetitive work and generate more consistent testing outcomes, higher consistency.

Execute more software tests and accomplish better testing coverage in a very limited schedule. Improves productivity and so on. It is an effective means of eliminating/lessening manual effort during regression as well as functional test case execution. Plus, the chances of defect escape will be decreased considerably, since mistakes will not occur once the script is highly developed. Well, in upcoming days, the automation will be considered more economical considering the fact of quality and time.

Scope of manual testing in the future

The Manual testing is considered as the preliminary testing phase which generally evaluates the behavior of the app developed, by performing the step by step assessment of the requirement specification analysis record. The prime objective of manual testing is to ensure that the app works extraordinarily and fine without any sort of bugs and functional defects and also as per the requirement specification documents.

Well, the future of manual testing tends to bit closer and closer to Software Development in functioning and requirements. The modification and operational developments in manual testing prove that it is necessary for manual testers for improving their skills and daily working styles. The testers who stick on Manual testing processes only should update their skills with new technologies and automation testing frameworks, in terms of development/special testing tools, leadership qualities, logical thinking, and process analysis. Now the query may arise in your mind is what the testers are expected to do is:

  • To augment their skills and be more aware of the programming critical concepts and how the development works.
  • Aware of how the code works.
  • Learn more about how the business functions to improve ROI.
  • Capacity to indulge in management activities.

These are the crucial steps that make them up to the level of a Test Analyst virtually like the responsibilities of a Subject Matter Expert [SME]. Hence, manual testing always exists along with all the fresh and new automation testing tools introduced and will long last with all its basic conception to be developed and used with needful changes in every Software Development/Web App development process. Automation Testing and Manual Testing will complement each other for a long time to come.

To conclude or in short, there is no absolute substitute for manual testing. For performing test activities like load testing, regression testing, and performance testing the automation has become essential. Without manual testing, the testing process will not be complete and there is the possibility of functional issues if we are less bothered about the manual testing procedure. Manual testing is much more reliable than test automation and skills such as inference, inductive reasoning, and human intuition are used while the manual testing process fashioned. Automation can’t completely replace these factors.
